Step 5: campaign registration and message examples

Show reviewers the messages you will actually send.

Use these as precise starting points for the campaign description, message flow, and message samples. Replace every bracketed value and remove anything the live program does not send.

These examples improve clarity; they do not guarantee approval. The submitted details must remain accurate, match the live experience, and comply with the applicable carrier and platform rules.

Hard stop

Do not submit a campaign for affiliate, shared-list, or third-party lead-generation traffic.

Wording cannot cure a program where the business collects consent for another advertiser, rents or shares a list, or sends promotional messages for third parties. Use a first-party program with direct consent from the people this business will message.

Registration narrative

Copy only after making it literal.

Before copying, confirm the registered sender, legal operator, categories, and URLs are all exact. Delete unused message categories rather than leaving a broad list in the submission.

This campaign sends informational SMS messages to customers and prospective customers who directly opt in at [WEBSITE URL]. Informational messages include [ACTUAL INFORMATIONAL MESSAGE TYPES]. Message flow: mixed

Requires separate marketing consent

Consumers opt in at [WEBSITE URL]. The form collects their name and mobile number and presents separate informational and marketing SMS consent checkboxes. Both checkboxes are optional, unchecked by default, and have their own adjacent disclosures. The consumer can select either category, both, or neither. The form links directly to [DIRECT TERMS URL] and [DIRECT PRIVACY POLICY URL]. The business stores the selected category, form/source URL, consent timestamp, and disclosure version. Consumers can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

Important: list every actual opt-in method. If people can opt in by keyword, paper form, POS, phone, QR code, or another page, describe that real method separately; do not submit this web-form flow as a substitute.

Native social lead forms: when one is an actual opt-in source, attach full-screen evidence showing the ad, same-brand identity, phone field, consent disclosure and unchecked control, direct Terms and Privacy links, and the form ID or version used.

Representative message samples

Submit 2–5 that match one live use case.

Each sample names the sender, uses square brackets for variables, and includes opt-out language. Keep promotional messages in the marketing program only—never send them to someone who selected informational messages alone.

Conditional response templates

Use only the responses your program actually supports.

If the business sends a confirmation after web-form consent, use the matching confirmation below. Keep the final GHL opt-in message at 160 characters or fewer. Keyword-specific fields are only for a program that truly supports and advertises keyword opt-in.

Informational consent confirmation

[SMS PROGRAM NAME]: You're subscribed to appointment and service updates. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. HELP=help, STOP=opt out.

Marketing consent confirmation

Only for separate marketing consent

[SMS PROGRAM NAME]: You're subscribed to offers and updates. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. HELP=help, STOP=opt out.

HELP response

[A2P-REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME / APPROVED DBA]: For help with [SMS PROGRAM NAME], contact [SUPPORT PHONE] or [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

STOP confirmation

[A2P-REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME / APPROVED DBA]: You have been unsubscribed and will receive no further messages from this program.

START / rejoin: add a rejoin response and keyword only when customers can genuinely opt in by texting that keyword to the program. Do not declare keyword opt-in merely because the platform supports it.

Campaign declarations

Answer from actual traffic, not from a template.

These answers must be true for every live message and opt-in method. If an answer is yes, include a real branded full URL or example phone number in a representative sample.

Guide to accurate A2P campaign declaration answers
DeclarationChoose Yes only whenDo not use as a shortcut
Embedded linksActual program messages contain a URL; show a real branded full URL in a sample.Do not answer Yes just because the website exists.
Embedded phone numbersAny live program message, including the HELP response, contains a phone number; show the actual number in a sample.Do not answer Yes for a phone number that appears only on the website. Remove the phone number from the HELP response if the program will not send one.
Age-gated contentThe service truly requires age gating and the live flow enforces it.Do not select it for a general wellness, fitness, or local-service program.
Direct lendingThe first-party sender itself is the lender; declare it even if another use case also applies.Do not select it for a referral, broker, or lead-generation program.
Campaign use case: choose Low Volume Mixed only when the actual program genuinely sends both marketing and informational traffic and that is the registered use case. Do not use it to cover an unclear message plan.
Affiliate / shared-lead marketing: no declaration answer or checkbox makes this acceptable. Do not submit or operate the campaign if opt-ins, leads, or promotions are collected for, transferred to, or used by another advertiser.
